Carmen and the Shadow
Carmen and the Shadow is the first installation of The Torn Gate Chronicles. It's a series I've been working on since I was in high school and was initially based on my favorite video game Final Fantasy. Incorporating a lot of elements from popular JRPGs like, magic, summons, interesting creatures and variety of races. It's a world where the old wizard king has been defeated in battle generations ago. The new king rules his small limping kingdom from his high castle, supressing the lower casts and plotting his world domination.
In this installation:
Carmen is called upon by her father’s oldest friend and the leader of the rebellion to embark on an urgent quest to scout a mysterious enemy. As she treks through forests teeming with wonder and danger, Carmen uncovers secrets about her father’s past and the forest she once thought was familiar.
